Summary
Head of Minerva (Athena). Greek marble. Ist century AD, Museo di Santa Giulia, Brescia, Italy. Found on the slopes of the Cidneo Hill in Brescia in 1828. The piece is a roman copy after a Greek original in bronze, possibly by Phidias. The statue originally wore a helmet, now lost, as shown by the unsculpted top of the head.
