Summary
The territory of the Prince-Bishopric of Augsburg spread along the southwestern border of Bavaria. It included several enclaves ("2"). The Free Imperial City of Augburg at the northern end was totally independent of the Prince-Bishopric.
The Diocese of Augsburg, over which the Prince-Bishop exercised only spiritual jurisdiction, extended well beyond the Prince-Bishopric but was much reduced when several states under its spiritual jurisdiction became Protestant and seized Church property.
Cropped from a map of Swabia published by R. Wilkinson in 1802.
