The Gould's shortwing (Brachypteryx stellata) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae (it was formerly assigned to the Turdidae). It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
Some taxonomists place it in its own monotypic genus Heteroxenicus.
The common name commemorates the English ornithologist and bird artist John Gould (1804-1881).[2]
