Summary
The "Iroquois" was more commonly known as the "Huey". There were a series of the "HU" models, hence the nickname "Huey". Various versions of this helicopter are operational with more than 36 air forces around the world. Well over 6000 have been produced. "Hueys" were the mainstay of U. S. Army Air Development Operations in Vietnam, being used as transports, gunships, airborne ambulances, search and general utility aircraft. The design first flew in 1955.
