Summary

Officers from the Special Actions Unit (Malay: Unit Tindakan Khas, UTK), Royal Malaysia Police on standby during the 56th National Day Parade of Malaysia at Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur. Trained by the British 22nd SAS, French GIGN, German GSG-9, Italian NOCS, Spanish G.E.O and US Army Delta Force, the UTK played a role in major cases of hostage taking, kidnapping, terrorism and extortion in urban area. The UTK may also be used to secure locations, neutralize targets, track down fugitives and sometimes conduct sniper operations and escorting and protecting top leaders and VVIPs.
