Randell "Kydd" Jones is an American hiphop/R&B artist from Austin, Texas, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia.[1][2][3][4][5]

Career

He was nicknamed "Kydd" by his older brother Tank Washington for being the younger kid in their group called Southern Boys which performed at local talent shows; after being signed to an independent record label in his early teenage years, he joined another group called Impac and started performing at clubs and shows at the age of 15.[6][7] He was personally picked by Chuck D to open for Public Enemy in 2012 after releasing The Sounds in My Head Pt. 2 & The Righteous LP.[8][9][10] In 2013, Jones released a compilation entitled Anunnaki and performed at Fun Fun Fun Fest and the StubHub Live Showcase at SXSW.[11][12] Kydd performed at NXNE and The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival as well as Red Bull Sound Select shows with Danny Brown & Yung Lean in 2014 while also producing for Kirko Bangz on Progression V: Young Texas Playa.[13][14][15][16][17] During 2015, he released the LNS Crew mixtapes and opened for Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber at the Billboard Hot 100 Fest.[1][18][19]
