Malik Muhammad Hanif Awan son of Malik Sahibdad Awan was born on May 5, 1952 in Gujrat.

Political career

Mr. Awan was first elected Member Provinical Assembly (MPA) in 1997 general elections from Sarai Alamgir with PML-N ticket. In 1999 when General Pervez Musharraf took over the power many politician joined hands with Pervez Musharraf and formed new party PML-Q, Mr. Awan was the only politician in Gujrat that stayed loyal to PML-N. During the exile of Sharif family Mr. Awan served as vice president of PML-N.
