Notleys Landing (also, Notley's Landing) is an unincorporated community in the Big Sur region of Monterey County, California.[1] It is located near the mouth of the Palo Colorado Canyon 6.5 miles (10 km) north of Point Sur,[2] at an elevation of 112 feet (34 m).[1]
Godfrey Notley built a landing for shipment of lumber at the place, and a settlement began.[2] The shipping was at its height from 1898 to 1907.[2]
Government
At the county level, Notleys Landing is represented on the Monterey County Board of Supervisors by Supervisor Dave Potter.[3]
In the California State Legislature, Notleys Landing is in the 17th Senate District, represented by Democrat Bill Monning, and in the 30th Assembly District, represented by Democrat Luis Alejo.[4]
In the United States House of Representatives, Notleys Landing is in California's 20th congressional district, represented by Democrat Sam Farr[5]
