Colman Rashleigh
Sir Colman Rashleigh, 2nd Baronet (4 May 1819 – 27 October 1896)[1] was an English Liberal Party politician.
He held a number of public offices in Cornwall including a Justice of the Peace (JP), Deputy Lieutenant of Cornwall, High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1852 and Deputy-Warden of the Stannaries. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for East Cornwall from 1874 to 1880.[2] He was also invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (CB) and gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the Cornwall and Devon Miners' Artillery.
Family
Eldest son of Sir John Colman Rashleigh, 1st Baronet (1772–1847) and Harriet Williams (died 1831), he married, on 1 May 1845, Mary Anne Kendall (1 February 1823 – 6 August 1893), daughter of Nicholas Kendall and Mary Anne Wymond. They had four children,
- Sir Colman Battie (11 March 1846 – 28 October 1907) became 3rd baronet on 27 October 1896
- Reverend John Kendall (12 March 1847 – 14 October 1933)
- Harriett (born circa 1850)
- Mary (20 April 1852 – 8 February 1900), wife of H. Young-Jamieson
In 1851 he resided at Great Prideane, Luxulyan, Cornwall.[3]
