Superbus (Hebrew: סופרבוס‎) is an Israeli bus company, which provides intercity and urban service in Beit Shemesh, Afula, Tiberias and Yokneam.

In 2007 it was published that Superbus won a tender to operate public transportation in Bet Shemesh and the Jerusalem corridor[1] in spite of its low quality of service and the large number of complaints filed by passengers against the company.[1][2] A lawsuit was filed by Connex and by Illit, after which a final decision was taken in favor of Superbus.[3] The company began operating these lines in January 2009.[4]

The company is equally owned by companies like the Limited and Auto Iris Travelers Yeruham Limited. The company owns 140 buses and employs about 200 employees in three branches - Afula, Yokneam and Jerusalem . The company owns three parking garages, two garages and service offices in the New Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv and Afula.

Superbus was formed in 2000 to participate in auctions for the privatization of public transportation in Israel's whose goal was to lower prices and break the monopoly of the Egged Israel Transport Cooperative Society Ltd and Dan Bus Company . In 2001 the company was awarded a tender to operate the Ramle - Lod and Matityahu transportation clusters, replacing the cooperative Egged public transportation lines on May 6, 2002. The company is scheduled to terminate its activities in the region during 2013. In early 2009 the company began operating lines in Beit Shemesh and the Jerusalem corridor. Superbus services accept the "RavKav" smart card as payment, which operates on the rest of public transportation in Israel, starting in 2008 lines of Beit Shemesh and the Jerusalem corridor, and from 2011 lines cluster Ramle - Lod - Matityahu but in 2013, Superbus lose in the Tender of Ramle - Lod - Matithahu and the bus line Transferred to Kavim bus company.

Beit Shemesh

The vast majority of bus routes within Beit Shemesh are operated by Superbus, as well as a similar majority in intercity routes. The company recently took over these routes from the Egged who now only operate a limited service in the city.
