National roads in Poland

Expressway S7 or express road S7 (in Polish Droga ekspresowa S7) is major road in Poland which has been planned to run from Gdańsk on the Baltic coast through Elbląg, Warsaw, Radom, Kielce and Kraków to Rabka near the border with Slovakia. On almost the entire route S7 will be built by upgrading existing National Road 7 (DK 7). Total planned length is 720 km (450 mi), of which 264.2 km (164.2 mi) has been built and a further 98.45 km (61.17 mi) was under construction in April, 2015.

As of April 2015 the longest stretch of this road that has been completed is a 55.6 km (34.5 mi) long section between Elbląg and Miłomłyn (south of Gdańsk). In June 2012 the S7 expressway south of Gdańsk forming the city's southern bypass opened to traffic. In July 2012 the S7 expressway between Pasłęk and Miłomłyn opened to traffic. In November 2012 the S7 expressway between the interchange with the S51 Olsztynek bypass and Nidzica opened to traffic. In July 2013 the second carriageway of the Kielce bypass was completed and fully opened to traffic. Two stretches of Southern Warsaw Bypass opened to traffic in July 2013 and September 2013, respectively.

According to current government plans, this road will have been completed by 2020.[1]
