 Cartoon Network is an American cable television network owned by Turner Broadcasting System which airs animated programming. The channel was launched on October 1, 1992, after Turner purchased the animation studio Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1991. It was originally a 24-hour outlet for classic animation properties from the Turner Broadcasting libraries and was all-ages-oriented which it broadcasts in time-sharing with TCM, but now the channel targets children and teens (about ages 7–15) and older teens and adults with mature content during its late night daypart Adult Swim, which is treated as a separate entity for promotional and ratings purposes. The network broadcasts shows ranging from action to animated comedy. Original series started in 1993 with The Moxy Show, along with Cartoon Cartoons original programs such as Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, The Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Johnny Bravo, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Codename: Kids Next Door, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Their current original programs are Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, Clarence (2014 TV series), We Bare Bears, Steven Universe, and The Powerpuff Girls (2016 TV series).

"Death in Bloom" is the seventeenth episode of the second season of the American animated television series Adventure Time. The episode was written and storyboarded by Jesse Moynihan and Cole Sanchez, from a story by Mark Banker, Kent Osborne, Patrick McHale, and series creator Pendleton Ward. It originally aired on Cartoon Network on February 28, 2011. The episode guest stars Miguel Ferrer as Death; Ferrer would later reprise his role in the fourth season episode "Sons of Mars". The series follows the adventures of Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada), a human boy, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio), a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. In this episode, Finn and Jake make a trip to the Land of the Dead after killing Princess Bubblegum's (voiced by Hynden Walch) plant when they were instructed to take care of it. After Jake's memory is wiped and Finn loses a musical duel against Death (voiced by Ferrer), the two are nearly killed until a lucky coincidence causes Death to spare them. Originally, the episode was supposed to revolve around the duo trying to get the plant back, lest Princess Bubblegum turn into a man. In addition, the episode originally was supposed to feature a mysterious rabbit that guided Finn and Jake through the Underworld; this character was later cut. The episode was watched by 1.981 million people and received largely positive critical attention. Many critics applauded Ferrer's voice acting work, and Matt Fowler of IGN singled the episode out as an example of the comedic darkening of Adventure Time. Joseph Barbera (March 24, 1911 – December 18, 2006) was an influential American animator, director, producer, storyboard artist, and cartoon artist. Born in New York City, after working odd jobs and as a banker, Barbera joined Van Beuren Studios in 1932 and subsequently Terrytoons in 1936. He met his lifelong collaborator William Hanna while working for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1937 and soon began producing animated shorts such as the Tom and Jerry series. In 1957, after MGM dissolved their animation department, they co-founded Hanna–Barbera, which became the most successful television animation studio in the business, producing programs such as The Flintstones, The Huckleberry Hound Show, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, The Quick Draw McGraw Show, The Smurfs, Wacky Races and Yogi Bear. Hanna and Barbera won seven Academy Awards and eight Emmy Awards. Their shows, which have translations in more than 20 languages, had a global audience in the 1960s of over 300 million people. The Brak Show is an animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim. The Brak Show is a spin-off of the animated television series, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and featured recurring characters from Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Cartoon Planet. Both programs used stock footage from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Space Ghost. The protagonist is Brak, voiced by Andy Merrill, who developed a quirky persona for the character. The Brak Show premiered on December 21, 2000, and ended on December 31, 2003, with a total of twenty-eight episodes. An extra webisode debuted on Adult Swim Video on May 24, 2007.
