Andreas Hagl

Andreas Hagl (21 April 1911 – 28 July 1944) was a highly decorated Major in the Fallschirmjäger during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Andreas Hagl was murdered by Italian partisans on 28 July 1944 near San Vito di Leguzzano, Italy.
