Benjamin Bentil (born March 29, 1995) is an Ghanaian basketball player who recently completed his college career at Providence College, declaring his eligibility for the NBA draft following his sophomore season.
Bentil and his family moved from Ghana to the United States when he was 18 and Bentil's athletic prowess earned him a scholarship to St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Delaware. He played for the school's soccer and basketball teams, ultimately earning a basketball scholarship at Providence.[1] After playing sparingly in his freshman season, the 6'9 power forward had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2015–16. He led the Big East Conference in scoring at 21.1 points per game and added 7.7 rebounds per game. At the close of the season, Bentil was named first-team All-Big East and the conference's most improved player.[2]
Following the conclusion of his sophomore season, Bentil declared himself eligible for the 2016 NBA draft. After taking part in the NBA combine and gauging his stock with NBA teams, Bentil signed with an agent, ending his college career.[3]
