Charles William Jackson "Bill" Falkinder CBE (29 August 1921 – 11 July 1993) was an Australian politician. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, he was educated at Hobart High School and served in the RAF in Pathfinders from 1940-1945 ranking to Wing Commander, flying some 117 missions over occupied Europe receiving the DSO, DFC Bar. In 1946 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Franklin, narrowly defeating Labor minister Charles Frost with a 10% swing. He held the seat until his retirement in 1966.Awarded CBE for service. Bill Falkinder died in 1993.[1]
