Career
Doncaster Rovers
After coming through Doncaster Rovers's youth system, he signed his first professional contract in May 2014.[3] He made his official debut on 7 October 2014 in a 3–0 away victory over Burton Albion in the Football League Trophy, coming on as a 90th-minute substitute.[4][5]
During the start of the 2015–16 season, manager Paul Dickov tried integrating Whitehouse into the team. Whitehouse made his last appearance facing the team he made his début against, Burton Albion, in a game in which Whitehouse picked up the man of the match award and played his first full 90 minutes. Since the sacking of Paul Dickov, Whitehouse failed to make a single appearance under new manager Darren Ferguson for the remainder of the season. After a well deserved draw with Burton Albion, that saw the Brewers promoted to Football League Championship for the first time in their history, Doncaster were relegated to play in League Two for the first time since 2004. It was announced on the 17th May 2016, that Whitehouse had been available on the transfer list, along with 4 other players; Thorsten Stuckmann, Dany N'Guessan, Gary MacKenzie and Curtis Main.
F.C. Halifax Town
It was announced on 13 February 2016 that Whitehouse would be joining FC Halifax Town, on an initial one-month loan. Whitehouse went on to make his debut that same weekend against opposition Grimsby Town, also scoring within 10 minutes of his debut in a game that ended 4-2 to the Shaymen. Whitehouse went on to make a further 3 appearances for Halifax, but failed to force himself into the starting line up. His loan extension was not extended and in March he returned to his parent club.
