Bodil Begtrup
Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Bodil Gertrud Begtrup (12 November 1903 - 12 December 1987) was a Danish women's rights activist and diplomat.
In 1929, she became a member of the board of da , in 1931, she was elected vice-president, and in the period 1946-49 she was president. In 1939 she became Denmark's first female film censor. After the war she became a member of the Danish delegation to the UN General Assembly. In 1946 she became chairman of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Begtrup was vice chairman of the committee that negotiated the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. She was appointed Envoy to Iceland in 1949, and became Denmark's first female ambassador, when in 1955 she was appointed ambassador to Iceland.[1][2][3]
