Bouzy is a commune of the Marne department in northeastern France, the Montagne de Reims subregion of Champagne.
History
Milo de Nanteuil Lord of Chatillon, knight warrior, Bishop Count of Beauvais, had the absolute domain of Reims and of the village of Bouzy as archbishop in the early decades of the thirteenth century. The knight Milo de Nanteuil had historically power equal to the King of France, thanks to which he managed to protect the production of wine (champagne) throughout the region and hence the economy of Beauvais, Reims and the small village of Bouzy, that risked succumbing forever, when King Louis IX of France, tried to block the production, first with unsustainable taxation imposing on trade, and then reserving the property of the entire production of local wine in the area, which later became known worldwide as champagne, reaching fifteen thousand people imprisoned, then liberated by Archbishop Count de Nanteuil.
