Colonel C. A. Dharmapala OBE[1] ED former Deputy Minister of Industries & Housing and was an ex-Member of Parliament for Hakmana.

He was also the Permanent secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Security Advisor to the President J. R. Jayewardene.

He was the first Commanding Officer of 3 (Volunteer) Battalion the Gemunu Watch in Matara.[2]
He was educated at Nalanda College Colombo.[3]
