19th century reform movements are political movements such as abolitionism or temperance which played a significant role in the political life of the nineteenth century. The movements found organizational form in the United States in organizations such as the American Anti-Slavery Society. In addition to the United States and Britain, where such movements played a major role, the category can include such organizations as the Society of Righteous and Harmonious Fists, also known as "The Boxers", of the Boxer rebellion.
