CHAMPLAIN II Shipwreck is an archaeological site located in Lake Champlain near Westport in Essex County, New York. It is the site where a passenger side-wheeler ran aground by pilot under influence of morphine on July 16, 1875. Due to salvage operation that occurred shortly after the accident, about 35 percent of the Champlain II remains in place.[2]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.[1]
