Charlie Hafekost
Charles Henry "Charlie" Hafekost (22 March 1890 – 1967) was an English professional footballer during the early years of the twentieth century. Born in Sunderland, he played for minor local team Sunderland Royal Rovers until 1912, when he joined New Brompton. He spent two seasons with the club, which was renamed Gillingham during his time there, and scored 15 goals in 51 Southern League appearances. In the 1913–14 season he was the club's top scorer, following which he was signed by Liverpool of the Football League First Division.[1] He only made one appearance for the "Reds", however, and eventually moved on to Darlington. He later played for Hartlepools United.[2]
