China Rally

The China Rally is the largest rally racing event held in Guangdong, China. The first event was run in 1997 as a replacement to the Hong Kong - Beijing Rally, and was introduced to the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar for 1999, but was replaced by the Cyprus Rally the following year. Since then it has been part of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC). "Force majeure because of government", according to the organisers, led to the cancellation of the event in 2003. The event will be part of the WRC for the 2016 season after having been on the calendar in 1999.
