Career

Club career

Pander is a product of the Schalke 04 youth system and has been part of the senior squad since 2004. He made his Bundesliga debut on 6 August 2004 in a 1–0 away loss to Werder Bremen. His career has been plagued with injuries. He missed the entire 2005–06 and 2009–10 seasons due to serious injuries. Pander's last competitive game for Schalke was on 10 May 2009 where he injured his knee against Borussia Mönchengladbach and had to be taken off in the 16th minute.[1][2]

Pander agreed to join league rival Hannover 96 from Schalke on 19 June 2011, signing a one-year contract.[3] In June 2015, he left Hannover after he did not receive an extension of his expiring contract.[4]

International career

Pander has been capped twice for his country. He scored on his debut for Germany on 22 August 2007, a powerful strike from roughly 25 yards against England. The game ended with Germany winning 2–1.
