Devotion is an upcoming American war drama film written by Jake Crane and Jonathan Stewart, and directed by J. D. Dillard.[2] The film is based on the book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by Adam Makos, which retells the comradeship between naval officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War.[3] The film stars Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell, Christina Jackson, Joe Jonas, Nick Hargrove, Spencer Neville, and Thomas Sadoski. The story revolves around elite fighter pilots Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner become the U.S. Navy's most celebrated wingmen during the Korean War.
Devotion will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022, and is scheduled to be released on November 23, 2022.[4][5]

Production
In March 2018, Black Label Media acquired rights to Devotion, with Glen Powell joining the cast as Tom Hudner.[6] In December 2019, it was announced that Jonathan Majors was cast as Jesse Brown and J. D. Dillard was set to direct.[7] In September 2020, it was announced that Sony Pictures would distribute in the United States, while STXinternational would handle international sales and distribute directly in the United Kingdom and Ireland.[8] In February 2021, Serinda Swan was cast as Elizabeth Taylor.[9] Principal photography began on February 4, 2021 in Savannah, Georgia,[10] and also took place in Charleston, South Carolina.[11] Filming took place in Wenatchee, Washington.[12] Filming also took place in Statesboro, Georgia from March 17 to April 13, 2021 at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport.[13]
Aircraft used in the production included several F4U Corsairs, an AD Skyraider, an F8F Bearcat, a rare HO5S-1 helicopter, and a MiG-15.[14] A modified L-39 Albatros trainer was used as an air-to-air camera platform.[15]
Release
Devotion will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022[16] and is scheduled to be theatrically released on November 23, 2022.[17] It was originally scheduled to be released in limited theaters on October 14, 2022, followed by the wide expansion of October 28, 2022.[18]
