Principle of operation of a differential mobility analyzer
A differential mobility analyzer (DMA) is device that separates charged aerosol particles or ions according to their mobility in an electric field prior to their detection, which can be done with several means, including electrometers or the more sophisticated mass spectrometers.[1][2][3]
