When he's not working as a session drummer at his Die Crawling Studio[5] or touring worldwide as a drum clinician for Tama drums and Meinl cymbals, Verbeuren shares his knowledge and expertise through his Dirk Blasts instructional videos,[6] in-person and online drum lessons. He accumulates two decades of experience as a teacher, including ten years at Nancy, France's Music Academy International.[7]

In 2011, Verbeuren created grindcore band Bent Sea[8] which features legendary Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury and vocalist Sven de Caluwe of Aborted.
