Edward Peter O'Kelly
Edward Peter O'Kelly (4 July 1846 – 22 July 1914)[1] was an Irish nationalist politician who sat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom briefly in 1895, and again from 1910 to 1914.
In April 1895, O'Kelly was elected as an Anti-Parnellite candidate at the by-election for the West Wicklow constituency, following the resignation of John Sweetman MP.[2] However, Parliament was dissolved on 8 July for the 1895 general election, and O'Kelly did not defend his seat.[2]
He returned to the Commons 15 years later as the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Wicklow, having been elected unopposed at a by-election in March 1910, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James O'Connor (Irish politician).[2] He was re-elected unopposed in December 1910,[2] and held the seat until died in office in July 1914, aged 68.[1]
