El Santos vs. La Tetona Mendoza (The Santos vs. Big Tits Mendoza in Spanish) is a 2012 Mexican adult animated action-comedy film, based on the comic by José Ignacio Solórzano (JIS) and Trino Camacho. It was released in theaters on November 30, 2012 in Mexico.[2] The film stars a large ensemble voice cast of famous Mexican actors, such as Daniel Giménez Cacho, José María Yazpik, Héctor Jiménez, Joaquín Cosío, Jesús Ochoa, Demián Bichir, Bruno Bichir, Odiseo Bichir, Cheech Marin, Dolores Heredia and iconic filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.[3] The film was produced by Ánima Estudios (through its adult label, Átomo Films) and Peyote Films, and distributed by Videocine.

Synopsis

El Santos, a fighter with an declining career, stoned and overweight, suffers from his recent divorce from La Tetona Mendoza, a voluptuous and feisty wild female wrestler. To get out of his depression, El Santos began a campaign to help Sahuayo Zombies. However, his philanthropic campaign soon became a very profitable business that leverages Santos for their benefit. The population suffers a zombie plague and La Tetona Mendoza threatens Santos if he doesn't eliminate the zombie invasion. However, El Peyote Asesino (eternal rival of Santos) gets rid of the zombies and therefore the affection of La Tetona. Soon the world realizes that being without zombies is worse than anyone could have ever imagined and the only way to save the nation is regenerating the zombie population. El Santos finds that his sidekick, El Cabo, is half human and half zombie (one of his parents was one) and by spreading his DNA the manage to start a zombie infection and save the day.

The film was released in theaters in Mexico on November 30, 2012.

The film was later shown at the Annecy International Film Festival 2013 on June 10, 2013.[4]

Box office

The film opened at #6 behind Trouble with the Curve, Skyfall, Wreck-It Ralph, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and Rise of the Guardians, earning $3,689,871 pesos ($284,743 USD).
