The Gansu mole (Scapanulus oweni) is a species of mammal in the family Talpidae endemic to China. It is the only species in the genus Scapanulus.[1] The mole is the only member of a tribe of genera commonly known as "New World moles", the Scalopini, not to actually live in North America.[2]
