Global Aviation is a South African airline headquartered in Johannesburg and based at OR Tambo International Airport.[1]
History
Established in 2001, the main business of Global Aviation is the leasing of and operating of aircraft.[citation needed] Global Airways's main strategy is to offer fully crewed, maintained and insured aircraft (ACMI).
Global Airways operated flights between Johannesburg and Miami until 2004, citing 'political commitments" as a reason for ceasing operations on that route.[citation needed] In August 2013, CEO Ron Finger announced plans to resume services between Johannesburg and Miami via Cape Town in late 2013 or early 2014 using an Airbus A330 on that route.[2] This however never happened.
Destinations
Global Aviation operates to different areas of North, Central and Southern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.[citation needed]
