Grey Court School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Ham, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, England. It is twinned with Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium in Konstanz, Germany. The school has received an "outstanding" rating in all areas from Ofsted.[1] In September 2014, a new Sixth Form Centre opened for Grey Court's founding sixth form students. [2]

The school occupies a large acreage in Ham, with playing fields and tennis courts. The school's current head teacher is Maggie Bailey.

History

The school was opened in 1956 to provide education for the children of the newly constructed Ham Estate. The school was built in the grounds of a Georgian house called Grey Court House. The school would take its name from the house. The house itself was renamed Newman House after Cardinal Newman who lived there as a child in the early part of the 19th Century.[3]
