Harbour Place Shopping Centre (Irish: An Chuain Plás Ionad Siopadóireachta) is a shopping centre located in Mullingar, Ireland. The centre is anchored by Dunnes Stores, and it is overall the largest store in the shopping centre. It started production in the middle of 1996 as it was confirmed to be built beside Cusack Park by the Westmeath County Council. It is one of the most well-known shopping centres in Mullingar, and one of the busiest in the town.
Production
Permission was granted by the Westmeath County Council for a shopping centre to be built beside Cusack Park.
Stores
Harbour Place consists of many small outlets such as Boots, EuroGiant Express and a Vodafone Talk to Me store. All stores are located on the ground floor of the shopping centre. On the first floor there is the Midlands 103's studio, more bathrooms and a café. On 28 January 2015, Golden Discs which was the main proprietor of music in the shopping centre, closed down unexpectedly with the loss of four jobs. The owners deemed the shopping centre “no longer commercially viable”. Golden Discs was Mullingar's last stand-alone music store and the closest is in Athlone's Golden Island shopping centre complex.[1]
