James Hannon was born in 1967 in Norwood, Bronx, New York. He is an Irish-American author and filmmaker who is best known for his documentary on the 1960s garage band Richard and the Young Lions called "Out of Our Dens: The Richard and the Young Lions Story"[1]

In August, 2010, Lost Boys of the Bronx: The Oral History of the Ducky Boys was released. This book (formerly a video documentary project) focuses on the real life Ducky Boys gang of mid-1960s Bronx, New York who were made famous by the film The Wanderers.

As of January 2012, Mr. Hannon is working on a new book on the world of costuming. This currently untitled book tells the behind-the-scenes insight into people who put on costumes and go out to events such as Comic book conventions, Renaissance fairs, charity events, etc. The book is scheduled to be released in early 2014.
