Joachim Jose is professor for pharmaceutical and medical chemistry at the University of Münster, and focuses primarily on the research of bacterial development of drugs and biocatalysts by surface display.

Curriculum Vitae

Joachim Jose is a German chemist. He studied biology at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken and received his PhD in 1994. From 1994 - 1997, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen. He was an Assistant Professor (C1) at the Institute of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the University Saarbrücken from 1998 - 2004 and finished his habilitation in 2003 by a thesis on the "Evolutive design of Drugs and biocatalysts by bacterial surface display", followed by the appointment as a "Privatdozent". In 2004, he accepted an offer of the Heinrich-Heine-University Düesseldorf for an Associate Professorship (C3) in Bioanalytics at The Institute of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry where he was appointed director of the institute in 2008. In 2010, he accepted an offer of the Westfälische Wilhelms-University for a full Professorship (W3). Since March 2011, he is working with his group in Münster, is head of the institute and holds a chair in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry
