Khadyzhensk (Russian: Хады́женск) is a town in Apsheronsky District of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Pshish River, 113 kilometers (70 mi) southeast of Krasnodar. Population: 21,579 (2010 Census);[3] 21,286 (2002 Census);[5] 18,998 (1989 Census).[6]
History
It was founded in 1864 as the stanitsa of Khadyzhenskaya (Хадыженская).[citation needed] Town status was granted to it in 1949.[citation needed]
Administrative and municipal status
Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is, together with three rural localities, incorporated within Apsheronsky District as the Town of Khadyzhensk.[1] As a municipal division, the Town of Khadyzhensk is incorporated within Apsheronsky Municipal District as Khadyzhenskoye Urban Settlement.[2]
