Kijal (est. pop. (2000 census): 4,375)[3] is a small town in southern Terengganu, Malaysia. The town is well known for the Awana Kijal Golf and Beach Resort, a luxury resort, and as a stopover for Star Cruises ocean liners, which are both owned by the Genting Group. Kijal is also known for its lemang (a traditional Malay dish) and its durian fruit.[citation needed]
