Laura Weightman (born 1 July 1991 in Alnwick) is a British middle-distance runner who competes in the 1500 metres. She reached the final at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.[1][2] Weightman won the Silver Medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

She is coached by Steve Cram, former world 1500 m record holder and Olympic silver medalist. Previously coached by Mike Bateman from Morpeth Harriers.

Early life and education

Weightman was born on 1 July 1991 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England.[3] She was educated at The Duchess's Community High School, a state comprehensive school in the market town of Alnwick. She currently is living in Leeds training full-time after graduating with a Sport and Exercise Science degree from Leeds Metropolitan University in May 2013.
