Lavanya Tripathi is an Indian model and actress. After working as a model and winning the Miss Uttarakhand title in 2006, she entered the film industry in 2012, starring in the Telugu film Andala Rakshasi.
Early life
Lavanya Tripathi was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India and grew up in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.[1] Her father is a lawyer practicing in high and civil court and her mother is a retired teacher. She has two elder siblings, one brother and sister.[2] After completing her schooling from Marshalls School, she moved to Mumbai, where she graduated in Economics from Rishi Dayaram National College.[2][3]
She stated that she "always wanted to be in showbiz" but her father wanted her to complete her education first. She then started modelling, appearing in commercials, while also being part of television shows.[1] She won the title of Miss Uttarakhand in 2006.
Career
She made her feature film debut with the 2012 Telugu film Andala Rakshasi,[4] after a friend suggested her to attend the audition for the role.[1] She earned critical acclaim for her performance as Midhuna and won the Best Debutante Award from Maa TV.[1] The following year she starred in Doosukeltha which also proved to be successful.[1] In 2014, she made her debut in Tamil cinema with Brahman in which she played an aspiring journalist, Gayathri.[1] She quickly landed her next Tamil film role, in Naanum Rowdydhaan,[1] but was removed from the film when a new production studio took over the project. Her next Telugu project was Bale Bale Magadivoy with Nani.[5]
