Laxmirani Majhi (born 26 January 1989) from Chittaranjan, Asansol is a female Indian right handed recurve archer.

Early life

Laxmi is from the Santhal tribe; she grew up in Bagula village in Ghatshila District, Jharkhand. Her first chance to become an archer was offered to her when the selectors for the archery academy visited her Government School.[1]

Achievements

She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event where she won the silver medal at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.[2]

Laxmirani Majhi is set to represent India at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She along with Archers Deepika Kumari and Rimil Buriuly have qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympics.[3]
