Lodha Group
Lodha Group, established in 1980 is a Mumbai based real estate developer into housing and commercial projects.[1] The Group is currently developing in excess of 35 million sq.ft. of real estate, with over 30 projects in and around Mumbai. The Group also has its presence in Hyderabad and Pune.[2]
Founder
Lodha Group was established in 1980 by Mangal Prabhat Lodha.[3] Abhishek, son of Mangal Prabhat Lodha is in charge of the groups developments in Mumbai.[4]
Projects
AcquisitionsIn the last few years the Lodha Group has bought some prestigious properties in India and overseas. The list includes Macdonald House purchased with a $500 million deal with the Government of Canada in Central London,[17][18] Washington House on Altamount Road in Mumbai bought from the US Consulate for Rs. 375 Cr[19] and Mumbai Textile Mills 17-acre Mumbai with a development area of 5 million sq ft was bought from DLF for Rs. 2,700 Cr.[20] PartnershipsOver time, Lodha Group has partnered with several designers, architects and consultants for various projects. Interior design partners include Phillippe Starck, whom Lodha Developers appointed for "yoo inspired by Starck", to design the residential development at New Cuffe Parade, Mumbai.[21][22] Jade Jagger is designing Lodha's Fiorenza project off the Western Express Highway in Goregaon, suburb in Mumbai [23][24] and Armani CASA: Armani/CASA, Interior Design Studio, which has been commissioned to design apartments for the World Towers.[25] The World Towers project comprises World One, the world’s tallest residential tower with 117 floors, and World Crest.[26] Apartments are expected to cost between Rs 7.5 crore and Rs 50 crore.[27] Design architects include Kapadia Associates Ltd., which Lodha partnered for architectural design[28] and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.[29][30][31] Service Partners include Quintessentially, the luxury concierge service which has parted with the group for World One[32][33] and Six Senses will be the brand’s first venture in a residential building with the developer.[34][35] Landscape Architects Sitetectonix, Singapore has been tied up as the landscape consultant for the four 63-storey towers New Cuffe Parade project in Wadala, Mumbai.[36][37] Ken Smith, has been contracted for the Landscape in World One project.[38][39] Structural Consultants Leslie E. Robertson Associates (LERA) New York based structural engineering consultancy has partnered with Lodha Developers for the World One project.[40][41] In terms of finance, HDFC sponsored a real estate fund of $54 million (Rs. 250 crore) investment in one of its special purpose vehicle (SPV) in Hyderabad for the development of the group’s residential and commercial projects in Hyderabad.[42][43] ICICI Venture which manages a $550 million dedicated India Advantage Fund Real Estate Series 1 has committed 13 investments including Lodha Elevation Buildcon.[44][45] In August 2014, Lodha Group announced its tie up with Donald J Trump's Trump Organisation to build Trump Towers in Mumbai, within their project The Park (residential project), through a brand licensing deal.[46] Notable AccomplishmentLodha Group employs over 3000 associates and site-based employment includes 25,000 workers.[47] It was the first Indian real estate company to introduce a Customer Rewards Program[48] The group is credited for launching one of India's first `By invitation only project', Lodha Bellissimo.[49] It was also the first to introduce LEED certification for commercial projects[50] In 2008 the group received Rs. 1,700 Cr. worth of funding from a consortium of investors led by Deutsche Bank making it one of the largest FDI deals in the history of Indian Real Estate [51] The group won the Green GOOD DESIGN Award 2012 for its iconic project World One.[52] References<templatestyles src="Reflist/styles.css" />Cite error: Invalid <references /> , or <references group="..." /> |
