Madan Mitra is an Indian politician and Former MLA, elected from the Kamarhati constituency in the West Bengal state assembly election, 2011.[2][3][4] He had been arrested by CBI for his alleged involvement in Saradha scam on December 12, 2014 .[5][6] CBI is also investigating his involvement in Rose Valley chit fund scam. He was the Minister of State for Sports (Independent Charge) and Transport in the Government of West Bengal, but resigned on November 18, 2015 upon cancellation of his bail citing that he is still functioning as a cabinet minister in the state government.
