"Matters of Honor" is the first episode of the third season of the science fiction television series Babylon 5.

Synopsis

Above an unnamed planet we see a Drazi ship fight its way up past enemy satellites. Before it is destroyed it launches its one fighter, and its pilot sets course for Babylon 5. Meanwhile, back on the station David Endawi (Tucker Smallwood) of EarthForce Special Intelligence arrives on Babylon 5 to investigate the sighting of the Shadow vessel ("The Fall of Night"). He proceeds to ask the ambassadors if they know anything of the strange spidery ship.

Dr. Franklin begins treating the unconscious pilot after he arrives at Babylon 5, but finds him missing from medlab. He quickly makes contact with Delenn's people asking for a meeting in brown sector. The meeting is interrupted by local thugs and a vicious hand to hand brawl ensues.

The pilot, a ranger called Marcus, is brought to Captain Sheridan and Garibaldi to ask for help. It seems he just escaped from a blockaded ranger training camp in the Drazi freehold planet of Zagros 7. The planet has been blockaded by the Centauri, still continuing their expansion into the non-aligned worlds after the fall of Narn. Garibaldi feels sympathy for their plight but remarks that they would need a warship and heavy weapons to break a planetary blockade; resources they just don't have. Marcus promises he has the means if Sheridan has the will.[clarification needed] They leave Babylon 5 in shuttles to an undisclosed location with Marcus only saying what there is a "beginning".
