The Milwaukee Normal School-Milwaukee Girls' Trade and Technical High School is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[1]

History

The site is made up of four adjoining structures built in stages.[2] Built in 1885, the central and oldest structures of the complex is the former State Normal School (later the Wisconsin State College of Milwaukee and now the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee). The second structure was built in 1894 on the west side of the original structure. After the normal school was sold to the City of Milwaukee in 1909, it was converted to the Milwaukee Girls' Trade and Technical School. The third and fourth structures of the complex were built in 1918 and 1932. Currently, the site serves as a homeless shelter.
