Noshiro Station (能代駅 Noshiro-eki?) is a railway station in Noshiro, Akita, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

History
Noshiro Station opened on 1 July 1908[1] as Noshiromachi Station (能代駅?) on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR). It was renamed to its present name on 1 November 1909.[citation needed] The JGR became the Japanese National Railways (JNR) after World War II. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987.
