Pangkalan Kerinci (Jawi: ڤڠكالن كرينچي ) is a town or Sub-district in Pelalawan Regency, of Riau province of Indonesia. The town is principal (capital) of Pelalawan Regency. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 69,444.[1]

Before 1994, Pangkalan Kerinci was a small village in the Sumatran rain forest. That year, four thousand workers commissioned by Sukanto Tanoto constructed a river port and a large logging mill there. Several miles of railway were built as well. Not long after, Eka Tjipta Widjaja built an even larger mill 25 miles away. The two mills caused a huge population spike, and the airport receives frequent flights from Singapore.[2] today the mills produce over 4 million tons of wood pulp every year.[3]
