Polichni (Greek: Πολίχνη) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and was a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pavlos Melas, of which it is a municipal unit.[2] The population is 36,146 (2001 census), and it has a land area of 7.325 km².
Polichni is known for its cafeterias which are always full of people, especially the youth.[citation needed]
Sports
Polichni hosts two volleyball clubs, Epikouros Polichnis founded in 1975 and Pegasus Polichnis founded in 1982.
