The Rugby Club Unterföhring is a German rugby union club from Munich district, currently playing in the Regionalliga Bavaria and with a second team in the Verbandsliga Bayern. It is based in Unterföhring, the closest suburb to Munich city centre.
In under two years after the foundation, the club has managed to bring over 80 members to the club, most of them German locals with their international friends from more than ten countries around the world. The RCU therefore is in the Top 5 of the biggest rugby clubs (out of 29) in Bavaria.
Also Unterföhring is the smallest municipality in Germany with its own rugby union club. The RCU also has a growing youth section within the club. The U10 became second in the Bavarian Championship 2014/15[1]
