Ransdorp is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Amsterdam, and lies about 7 km east of the city centre.
Ransdorp is a part of the stadsdeel (borough) Amsterdam-Noord. The village has about 245 inhabitants.[1]
Ransdorp was a separate municipality until 1921. The municipality covered the villages of Ransdorp, Durgerdam, Holysloot, and Schellingwoude.[2]
Ransdorp was visited by the American reality television show The Amazing Race 12 (2007). Contestants had to perform a traditional fierljeppen river vault before completing the "leg" at a local yacht club in Durgerdam.
