Sara Hilary Haines (born September 18, 1977) is the lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America Weekend and a correspondent for ABC News. Prior to joining ABC News, Haines was best known for her role on the fourth hour of NBC's Today Show, alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, a position she held for four years, from May 2009 until August 2, 2013.

Early life and education
Haines was born in Newton, Iowa, where she grew up with her parents and three siblings.[1]
Haines attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where she received a degree in Government in 2000. At Smith, Haines played basketball and volleyball.[citation needed]
Career
NBC News
Prior to becoming a correspondent for TODAY, beginning in 2002, Haines was the Production Coordinator for NBC's Today Show at Rockefeller Center in New York City.[1]
Haines was in the NBC's Page Program and graduated in 2002 before joining the Today Show.[1][2]
Haines became TODAY's fourth hour contributing correspondent until she departed in 2013.[3]

Haines joined ABC News in 2013 as a correspondent and lifestyle anchor for the weekend edition of Good Morning America.
Personal life
She resides in Brooklyn[citation needed] and enjoys training for triathlons.[citation needed] She has two chihuahuas as pets.[citation needed]. On November 22, 2014 she married Max Shifrin in the Bahamas. Their son, Alec Richard Shifrin, was born March 5th, 2016.
